So it seems you need a helmet in the US to protect yourself from the police - I note that many of the critical mass riders did not have one and nor did the guy who was knocked off by the copper. Imagine the issue if the cyclist hit his unprotected head on the lamp post/curb/pavement and became a vegtable. Russell
the south perth rouleurs is a group of cyclists that meet on both saturday and sunday for group rides in a friendly, social environment.
the aim is to catch up socially both on the bike and in the coffee shop as well as incorporating a sufficient amount of hard riding to make you work for your brew.
we are not affiliated with any bike shop or club and therefore have a "ride at own risk" policy where you are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others.
we try to cater for all abilities, but some amount of group riding is advisable before coming and playing with us.
ride details
all rides start at the carpark adjacent to the coode st jetty in south perth
saturday. 7:00am. 45-50km. moderate to fast pace. ave 35km/h. finish at 8:40am at the bell tower cafe.
sunday. 7:00am. 90-100km. very hilly. many regroup points and shortcuts. coffee at kalamunda. finish 11:30am.
